Ever had a crazy idea of combining 3 continents into 1? Bet you’ve never thought of that, or you probably did, actually scratch that… unless you’re a geography lover. The point is, this small pebble we live in called Earth compared to the colossal vastness of this universe contains a lot more diversity in the contents of volume.
As such, most planets discovered by astronomers all have several things in common. They are made of nothing else but gas-dominated atmospheres, rocky cores, some rich in water vapor, some in carbon dioxide, even potassium. Yep, you heard me right, those stuff in bananas. The point of me telling you this? I want you to think about our planet now.
Drowned with abundant and prosperous life, beautiful perspectives captured from valleys to even the most environmentally lethal volcanoes. It truly showcases God’s amazing capabilities. Malaysia is no stranger to being a geographical wonder as well.
First of all, circling back to the intriguing idea of combining 3 continents into 1, I want you to play a game with me real quick. Let’s draft 3 countries to merge with each other. Taking China as our first pick due to its nature of rapid development as a country. Now, India for its absolutely tasty delicacies. And finally, the foundation, the core, Malaysia. No need to imagine, it’s Malaysia.. you can find these 3 right here.
Stepping into this country for the first time can make you feel like you’re cruising through 3 countries in just 1 car sitting. The culture mixing here allows for many crazy spectacles in just one city, take for example Kuala Lumpur. Curiosity towards Indian culture? Head on over to Brickfields Little India. How about adoring Chinese culture through a street covered by bright red spectacles flickering in the air? Look no further because Jalan Petaling, Chinatown is exactly it. These 2 locations are covered with the uniqueness of Malaysian culture. A good way to put it is, a canvas splashed with extravagant yet harmonious hues that fit with one another. This seamless bond they have is the product of the country’s rich history. From delicate structures made upon people’s respective beliefs, to the trades that undergo throughout southeast Asia. These stories woven together blossomed into a blessing, that is, Malaysia.
Second of all, Malaysia rarely gets hit with the wrath nature brings. Earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, you name it. Every single one of these disasters at least visit this country after a long interval of time. Malaysia sees about 0.03 earthquakes per year, or roughly one every 31 years. For tsunamis, I kid you not, the last time it got hit was 20 years ago. The 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami is the only major tsunami recorded in Malaysia’s history. Oh, and uh, Malaysia doesn’t have any dangerous volcanoes, hence no incidents regarding this one. Another thing to add is, the country even protects itself from harsh rainfalls with how the mountains act as barriers against the monsoon winds. Well, you can still see flooding in Malaysia with recent heavy rainfall in Terengganu but yet the Government doesn’t declare it as a national disaster…it means, everything is still in order.
Third of all, don’t let Malaysia’s size fool you. It may be small but it packs a punch. It’s the sheer girth of its flora and fauna diversity. The uniqueness of how Malaysia is formed geographically allows it to host many species. I’ll let you take a guess, just how many species are there that call Malaysia its sweet-sweet abode? Well, you may have already skimmed through this paragraph anyways and saw the number 170,000. Oh, what’s that? You already know what it is? Yep, there’s about an estimated 170,000 species on this cherished floating piece of green slate. Get it? Cause the earth is just filled with water and most land looks like a green slate just floating on top of it- ok, I’m sorry, I’ll stop. Going right back to our topic, this nation also boasts a reputable 60% of land untouched by mankind. That’s basically 60% of pristine, good forested areas, perfect haven for wildlife. It does make you wonder how the country thrived so much despite this fact.
Last but not least, Malaysia is teeming with raw materials. A big part of its economy. There’s no surprise how much of a hotspot this place is for many merchants starting from the 15th century, till now. It gives us an entirely new understanding of how insanely smart the people there can be. Even though Malaysia is small compared to many countries, it still grew exponentially without exhausting their main selling point. A testament to how anyone can do anything if they really try their best. From rags to riches.
Concluding this writing, Malaysia is overall one of the most beautiful and unique countries in my opinion. I don’t even need to prove it, come to Malaysia and just see how wonderful this country really is. Also, do prepare yourself to drown into the vast sea of spectacular cultural differences. And so I thank you, the reader, for using your precious time to recognize what makes Malaysia, Malaysia. Until next time fellas, wherever you may be, good morning, good afternoon, good evening and good night.
